Anticipated Debut of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Chipset Draws Near: A leaked hint drops crucial details before its unveiling, with the Snapdragon Summit looming less than two months away.

Leaked benchmark details reveal insights about Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, unveiling its capabilities. Get the full scoop here.

As the Snapdragon Summit approaches within two months, anticipation swells for the impending launch of the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Amid the excitement, a leaked benchmark listing has provided insights into the anticipated features of the upcoming chipset.

Hints of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3's specifications come from a leaked Geekbench 5 score for the RedMagic 9. According to reports, a tipster on Weibo—our platformal Chat Station—was responsible for sharing this information. The device tested reportedly has a motherboard codenamed "pineapple," believed to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The device in question runs on Android 14 and is rumored to be one of the first flagship phones to feature the yet-to-be-revealed chipset.

According to the leaked benchmark listing, the RedMagic 9, if it does indeed use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, would boast a homogeneous CPU configuration consisting of one high-performance core, five medium-performance cores, and two efficiency cores. While the exact frequencies for each core are yet to be confirmed, it is suggested that the high-performance core would operate at approximately 3.19GHz, with the medium-performance cores running at roughly 2.96GHz and the efficiency cores at around 2.27GHz.

If the leaked information is accurate, the chipset would comprise one Cortex-X4 core, five Cortex-A720 cores, and two Cortex-A520 cores. The device in question would also include an Adreno 750 GPU.

It should be noted that the leaked benchmark listing suggests that the device is using a standard version of the chipset, which could mean that a premium variant is also in development. This model of dual chipset variants has been seen in previous Snapdragon generations, such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which was offered in both standard and Premium (for example, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy series) models.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3's launch is eagerly awaited, as the prospect of improved performance and energy efficiency promises to propel smartphones to new heights. Stay tuned for further updates as more details about the chipset's capabilities emerge.

The RedMagic 9, allegedly the first flagship phone to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, is rumored to feature a smartphone configuration of one high-performance core, five medium-performance cores, and two efficiency cores, according to the leaked benchmark listing. Additionally, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, if the leaks are accurate, may include gadgets like the Adreno 750 GPU and could potentially come in standard and premium versions, as was the case with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
