Lexus' 2023 LF-ZC Concept Electric Sedan Heads to Production
Lexus, Toyota's luxury arm, is pushing ahead with its electric vehicle plans. The 2023 LF-ZC concept, a sleek electric model, is set to hit production. This marks a significant step towards Lexus's goal of a fully electrified lineup by 2030.
The LF-ZC, short for 'Lexus Future Zero-emission Catalyst', offers a glimpse into the future of Lexus design. Its emotionally charged, coupe-like silhouette hints at the brand's upcoming electric models. These include a sedan, a large seven-seater SUV, and another yet-to-be-disclosed model, all planned for production around 2026.
The LF-ZC promises impressive performance. It can charge from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes at a 150 kW DC fast-charging station. This, coupled with its estimated range of 800 kilometers, doubles that of conventional models. A patent filing in Europe suggests Lexus is making strides in bringing this concept to life.
Meanwhile, Lexus is also readying the all-electric version of its ES model for spring next year. Measuring 5.14 meters in length, it will join the 2023 Lexus RZ, which offers a range of about 480 kilometers per charge. Additionally, the new Lexus ES will be available as a full hybrid for the first time.
Lexus's commitment to electrification is clear. With the LF-ZC concept on track for production and a pipeline of electric models, the luxury brand is poised to lead Toyota's electric vehicle charge. These upcoming models promise impressive range and charging capabilities, setting the stage for a new era of luxury electric vehicles.
