LG and will.i.am deliver powerful audio experience at an affordable price with their new earbuds
LG has made an exciting announcement, unveiling two new additions to its xboom Buds lineup: the Buds Lite and the Buds Plus. These new earbuds are designed for frequent travelers and those with active lifestyles, promising to deliver superior sound quality and convenient features.
The original xboom Buds have garnered positive reviews for their good battery life, decent app, and effective noise cancellation. LG aims to build on this success with the new models, offering improvements in ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and equalization, among other features.
The Buds Lite, priced starting at £59.99, feature mild ANC, a one-mic system, and four customisable EQ modes. They offer a battery life of 11.5 hours solo and 35 hours with the charging case. On the other hand, the Buds Plus, priced at £149.99, boast adaptive ANC, adaptive EQ, a triple-mic system, and LG's Plug & Wireless feature. The Buds Plus offer a battery life of 10 hours solo and 30 hours with the charging case.
Both variants of the xboom Buds will begin rolling out to major markets worldwide in September 2025. The Buds Plus also feature LG's Uvnano sanitation tech and support LE Audio and Auracast.
The Plug & Wireless function for the LG xboom Buds Plus is a standout feature, developed by LG Electronics as part of the xboom Buds series expansion. This advanced technology turns the charging case into a Bluetooth transmitter for non-Bluetooth devices.
In terms of pricing, the Buds Lite are roughly $80 / €70 / AU$122, and the Buds Plus are $205 / €172 / AU$305 internationally. Both the Buds Lite and Buds Plus use graphene drivers and have audio tuned by will.i.am.
