LG Unveils World's First 6K Monitor with Thunderbolt 5
LG Electronics has unveiled the UltraFine evo 6K, the world's first 6K monitor with Thunderbolt 5 support. This high-end display is aimed at professional creators and will first go on sale in South Korea and Japan in late September, followed by a global rollout in October, including the US and Europe. Indian availability remains uncertain.
The LG UltraFine evo 6K boasts a 32-inch 6K HiDPI panel with 224 PPI pixel density, offering ultra-high resolution for editing and design work. It covers 98% DCI-P3 and 99.5% Adobe RGB, and is VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified. Key features include factory calibration for macOS and Studio Mode for color presets.
Powered by Thunderbolt 5, the monitor delivers real-time 4K rendering and rapid 8K RAW file transfer, with up to 120Gbps unidirectional bandwidth. It has slim borders and offers tilt and pivot adjustments, supporting vertical workflows. Compared to LG's older 5K UltraFine monitors, the 6K evo offers higher resolution, Thunderbolt 5 support, and enhanced professional hub functions with a KVM switch and multi-port connectivity.
Priced at approximately €1,999 to €2,000 in Germany, the LG UltraFine evo 6K will compete against rivals like Apple's Pro Display XDR and Dell's UltraSharp 6K. While Indian pricing and availability are yet to be revealed, this monitor promises to be a powerful tool for professional creators seeking ultra-high resolution and high-speed performance.
