Li Auto is set to launch its first pure electric SUV, the Li i8, later today in Beijing. This marks a significant step for the company as it expands its battery electric vehicle (BEV) lineup.

The Li i8 will be priced approximately 25% higher than the Onvo L90, with an estimated price range of RMB 350,000 to RMB 400,000. This new offering is equipped with a 97.8-kWh ternary lithium battery, which supports a 5C charging rate, enabling the Li i8 to charge for 500 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes.

Li Auto has made a commitment to having more than 2,500 supercharging stations in China when the Li i8 launches. As of July 31, 2025, Li Auto operates the largest supercharging network among Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers, with 3,028 supercharging stations and 16,671 charging stalls across China. This network includes about 1,000 highway stations covering major east-west and north-south routes, spaced roughly 150 kilometers apart, plus 2,000 urban stations in over 250 cities.

Li Auto's extensive supercharging network provides a competitive advantage in charging convenience for its customers relative to other domestic EV brands. This extensive network, combined with the Li i8's impressive charging capabilities, positions the Li i8 as a strong competitor in the Chinese EV market.

Deliveries for the Li i8 are set to begin in late August, making it an exciting addition to the growing EV landscape in China. The Li i8 is a competitor to the Nio vehicle, but with the advantage of a more extensive supercharging network.

Pre-orders for the six-seat Li i8 SUV began on July 17, and the official price will be announced later today at the launch event. With its impressive specifications, vast supercharging network, and competitive pricing, the Li i8 is poised to make a significant impact in the Chinese EV market.
