MAN Unveils Europe's First Fully Electric Coach: Lion's Coach 14 E
MAN Truck & Bus has made history by unveiling the Lion's Coach 14 E, Europe's first fully electric coach. This 14-metre vehicle boasts an impressive range of up to 650 kilometres and has already won an award for its digital driving enhancements.
The Lion's Coach 14 E is powered by MAN's Electric Central Engine, the MAN eCD330, and utilises a proprietary drivetrain technology from MAN's eTrucks division. Its usable battery capacity ranges from 320 to 480 kWh, providing a power output of 330 kW. The coach is equipped with a CO2 heat pump air conditioning system and MAN's latest Assistance Systems for enhanced safety and comfort.
The vehicle's roof is adorned with solar panels, further boosting its eco-friendly credentials. Despite being electric, the Lion's Coach 14 E offers the same luggage capacity as its diesel counterparts and seats up to 53 passengers. MAN showcased this innovative coach alongside other vehicles, such as the NEOPLAN Skyliner Auwärter Edition and Tourliner C, and the MAN TGE Coach minibus, at the recent Busworld event.
