In the rapidly evolving digital landscape, compliance with electronic invoicing regulations is becoming increasingly important, especially in Germany. Intesa, a leading provider of business digital transformation solutions, is offering a comprehensive e-invoicing service to help German companies navigate these changes.

PEPPOL, a network that standardises and facilitates electronic document exchange between public and private entities at both European and international levels, plays a crucial role in this process. Intesa's e-invoicing solution is designed to adapt to future e-invoicing requirements in other European countries and provide compliant document archiving for German documents.

German companies exchanging e-invoices must comply with the provisions set by the German Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF). Starting from January 2025, these companies must use EN 16931-compliant structured formats, primarily XRechnung or PEPPOL BIS, for their invoices. The BMF also requires proper archiving of the structured XML components of the e-invoices.

From January 1, 2027, German businesses with an annual turnover of €800,000 or more must issue e-invoices for B2B transactions. By January 1, 2028, all remaining German taxpayers must follow suit. It's important to note that all German businesses, including small enterprises and those with VAT-exempt transactions, must be able to receive electronic invoices in these structured formats starting from January 2025.

Intesa has developed a dedicated service for Italian companies with German branches that have a German VAT ID. This service allows them to adapt their foreign branches to send and receive electronic invoices in compliance with local regulations. The company already manages the archiving of fiscal documents in Germany.

In the passive cycle of e-invoicing with Intesa, mandatory from January 1, 2025, a communication channel is established, an invoice is received via the channel, and the original invoice and a readable PDF version are viewable on Intesa's portal.

Beyond e-invoicing, Intesa offers a range of solutions for business digital transformation, including Compliant Document Archiving, Digital Customer Onboarding, EDI - Electronic Data Interchange, E-invoicing Platform, Cross-Border E-invoicing, Corporate Electronic Signature, Electronic Seal, Document Management Software, and Supply Chain Management.

By leveraging Intesa's e-invoicing solution, German companies can ensure they are well-prepared for the upcoming regulatory changes, simplifying their digital transformation journey and focusing on what matters most: growing their businesses.
