Maruti Victoris Outshines Hyundai Creta in Crash Test Ratings

The Maruti Victoris and the Hyundai Creta, two popular compact SUVs in the market, have recently undergone safety tests by Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP. The results show a clear winner when it comes to safety features.

In the Global NCAP tests, the Maruti Victoris scored an impressive 33.72 out of 34 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), outperforming the Hyundai Creta which received a 3-star safety rating with an 8 out of 17 points score for AOP. The Maruti Victoris also demonstrated stable bodyshell integrity, unlike the Hyundai Creta, whose bodyshell was rated as unstable.

The Hyundai Creta, however, did manage to score adequately for the driver's head protection and good for the passenger's head protection in the Global NCAP tests. The footwell area of the Creta was also rated as unstable.

In terms of child occupant protection (COP), the Maruti Victoris scored 41 out of 49 points in Global NCAP tests, while the Hyundai Creta scored 28.29 out of 49. The Maruti Victoris top-scored in side impact and pole tests in Bharat NCAP, earning a 5-star safety rating for COP.

The Maruti Victoris also excelled in Adult Occupant Protection in Bharat NCAP, scoring 31.66 out of 32 points. It achieved a 5-star safety rating in both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP crash tests, making it the safest SUV in its category.

It's worth noting that the Hyundai Creta is the leader in the compact SUV category, but it continues with a 3-star safety rating from Global NCAP. The current-generation Hyundai Creta (pre-facelift) was tested by Global NCAP in 2022 and received a 3-star safety rating.

When it comes to safety features, the Maruti Victoris is equipped with more advanced technology. It comes with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and Level 2 ADAS features like automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and blind spot monitoring.

In conclusion, the Maruti Victoris outperforms the Hyundai Creta in crash test ratings and offers a more comprehensive suite of safety features. This makes it a strong contender for those prioritizing safety in their compact SUV purchase.
