Mecklenburgische Seenplatte Bolsters Emergency Services with New Fleet
Mecklenburgische Seenplatte county has bolstered its emergency services with the delivery of eight new balance vehicles. The acquisition, coordinated by the Eigenbetrieb Rescue Service, includes ambulance transport vehicles and emergency doctor vehicles, costing up to 211,000 euros each.
The new fleet features three ambulance transport vehicles equipped with a modern stair lift, making patient transport more efficient. These vehicles, priced at around 211,000 euros each, also boast an airline rail system for rollators and patient luggage. Additionally, four new emergency doctor vehicles and one 'OrgL' vehicle have been provided, totaling 135,000 euros and 130,000 euros respectively, to standardize the fleet.
The new vehicles will be deployed across six rescue stations: Neubrandenburg Nord, Neubrandenburg West, Alt Kabelich, Malchin, Friedland, and Neustrelitz Nord. While the specific stations receiving vehicles in 2026 are yet to be confirmed, the county assures more ambulance transport vehicles will be put into service this year and new rescue vehicles in 2026.
The county's investment in these new balance vehicles ensures that emergency services remain well-equipped and ready to serve the community. With an average vehicle lifespan of five years and up to 400,000 kilometers covered, these acquisitions guarantee reliable and efficient rescue services for the region.
