Meta's Ray-Ban Display Glasses: Exploring the innovative lens display, neural band, and key details
Meta is set to release a more stylish and affordable pair of meta glasses, the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2). Unlike its predecessor, these meta glasses prioritize style, with cameras and audio-based AI at the forefront.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses, set to launch on September 30 for $799, will be available at Best Buy, LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, and Ray-Ban stores. The glasses feature sleeker frames than Meta Orion and come equipped with a neural band for gesture support.
The neural band, made of comfortable textiles, is easy to clean and boasts an impressive 18-hour battery life. It can understand electrical impulses in wrist muscles, allowing discreet interaction with the meta glasses.
The glasses offer a 20-degree field of view monocular display in the right lens with a resolution of 600 x 600 pixels. They are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 processor and have a 12MP ultra-wide camera.
Users can scroll through a user interface with swipes of the thumb, and holding the palm up and pinching the thumb and index fingers together brings up a "home" menu. The glasses can also be interacted with via Meta AI and voice commands, if preferred.
Meta unveiled these consumer-ready AR glasses at Meta Connect 2025. Mark Zuckerberg demonstrated text messaging on the glasses using the neural band. Unlike the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2), the Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses have a focus on capability rather than style.
In addition to the Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses, Meta also launched a sportier pair called Oakley Meta Vanguard, geared towards athletes with extra-long battery life and IP67 protection.
The manufacturers of these new AR glasses are Meta and Ray-Ban for the Meta Ray-Ban Display and Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 models, as well as Oakley for the Oakley Meta Vanguard model. Available sizes and colours were not specified in the sources.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses are more than just a fashion accessory. With their advanced features and user-friendly interface, they are set to revolutionize the way we interact with technology.
For users looking for a more affordable and stylish pair of meta glasses, the Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses are a promising option. They will be available for appointment at Best Buy from September 30.
