Motorola Unveils Edge 2025: A Mid-Range Smartphone Boasting Durability, AI Advancements, and Enhanced Performance

In a recent announcement on May 27, Motorola revealed the launch of its latest addition to the Edge series, the Edge 2025. This mid-range Android smartphone showcases a curved 6.7-inch Super HD pOLED display with an improved resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, promising an immersive multimedia experience.

The device's display technology provides a roughly 13% increase in resolution compared to previous versions, ensuring sharper visuals. Moreover, the display boasts a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and animations. For added durability, the Edge 2025 incorporates Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, enhancing resistance to drops and scratches.

Motorola emphasizes the Edge 2025's redefined protection plus design, complete with MIL-STD-810H certification. This military-grade durability standard is designed to protect the device from extreme temperatures, 1.5-meter drops, and high-altitude locations.

In the realm of photography, the Edge 2025 sports a triple rear camera array led by a 50MP primary sensor. Motorola promises enhanced camera capabilities with brighter and more vibrant low-light shots, thanks to the Sony LYTIA 700C sensor. The Edge 2025 also features a 50MP ultrawide camera with Macro Vision built-in and a 10MP telephoto camera with Super Zoom capabilities. Additionally, the selfie camera sees a significant upgrade from the 32MP sensor on the Edge 2024 to a 50MP sensor.

The Edge 2025 integrates Moto AI, which includes the Photo Enhancement Engine. This engine uses AI to reduce noise, accentuate details, and improve dynamic range in real-time. The AI Suite also introduces the new AI Key, found on the device's side, which gives users fast access to smart AI features like "Next Move" for intelligent content suggestions, "Catch Me Up" for summarizing missed notifications, and more.

Understanding that fast processing is a must, Motorola equips the Edge 2025 with the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 SoC. This chipset delivers improved efficiency, speed, and AI capabilities for an optimal user experience.

Fueling the device is a 5,200mAh battery, claimed to last up to two days on a single charge, while supporting 68W TurboPower wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging for convenience. The Edge 2025 also comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The Motorola Edge 2025 will be available for purchase starting June 5, priced at $549 across Best Buy, Amazon, and Motorola.com. It may also be found at select retailers such as T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, Total Wireless, Visible, Spectrum, and Xfinity Mobile in the coming months. Canadian consumers will also have access to the Edge 2025 starting June 5.

The Motorola Edge 2025, debuting on June 5, not only offers advanced technology in its smartphone segment but also boasts an array of gadgets. Among these gadgets are a sophisticated triple rear camera system, including a 50MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultrawide camera, along with smartphone components like the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 SoC.
