Multiple train station clocks displayed incorrect time during the weekend hours

In an unusual occurrence, clocks at approximately 60 railroad stations across Switzerland displayed one hour too early over the weekend. The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) confirmed this issue, with no impact on train services reported.

The problem was first brought to light by Nau.ch, following a commuter's post on Reddit. The cause of the disruption remains unclear, but it appears that the clocks at the affected stations were showing winter time instead of summer time.

The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) is responsible for controlling the master clock that regulates the time for about 60 affected SBB station clocks. These clocks were first adjusted in 1944 and are controlled via central master clocks.

Fortunately, the problem has since been resolved at most stations, ensuring that travellers can continue their journeys without confusion regarding the correct time. SBB has not yet released a statement regarding the cause of the issue or the steps taken to rectify it.

Despite the unusual incident, it's reassuring to know that the disruption did not affect train services, ensuring smooth travel for passengers across Switzerland. As always, it's advisable to double-check the time at the stations before departing or arriving, just to be on the safe side.
