New Principal Fellow Joins University of Southampton's Startup Accelerator

The University of Southampton's startup accelerator has appointed Rory Miles as its new Principal Enterprise Fellow. Miles will drive strategic business growth to increase the scale, reach, and impact of the startup accelerator.

Miles, who has a wealth of experience in working with researchers, funding bodies, industry, and innovators across multiple sectors, most recently served as Innovation Programme Manager for Southern Water. His previous roles also include sitting on university innovation panels and boards, and collaborating on national approaches to industrial innovations.

The startup accelerator, which supports startups and spinouts that employ over 380 people, has collectively raised over £78m in investment. Miles will primarily focus on opportunities for expansion of the accelerator's proven processes.

Ben Clark, the Director of the University of Southampton's startup accelerator, is delighted that Miles has joined the team. "Rory's wealth of experience will be invaluable as we look to expand our support to founders not just at Southampton, but across the UK and potentially beyond," said Clark.
