Cyber Crime Division Arrests Man Selling Firearms Online in Khon Kaen
In a significant operation on August 6, 2025, the Cyber Crime Investigation Division 3 arrested a 42-year-old man named Tinakrit, alias Kom, for illegally selling firearms online. The arrest took place in a parking lot behind Ban Muang market in tambon Ban Thum, Muang district.
During the undercover sting operation, the police seized two semi-automatic pistols from Tinakrit: a black 9mm Luger Parabellum and a black-sand coloured Sig Sauer P320SP pistol. The operation was coordinated with the investigation division of Provincial Police Region 4.
Undercover officers arranged to purchase the 9mm Luger Parabellum from Tinakrit for 24,000 baht. When Tinakrit arrived to show the weapon, he was arrested. In addition to the Luger pistol, Tinakrit was found to be carrying an additional black-sand coloured Sig Sauer P320SP pistol.
Tinakrit admitted ownership of both weapons and claimed he purchased them from an unidentified Thai man he met through social media. He stated that he could no longer contact the person from whom he purchased the weapons.
Tinakrit was charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and handed over to Muang Khon Kaen police station for further legal action. The police learned that Tinakrit was offering weapon inspections before purchase at discounted prices.
The seizure of these two semi-automatic pistols marks a significant step in the fight against illegal firearm trafficking in Khon Kaen. The public is reminded to report any suspicious activities related to the illegal sale of firearms to the authorities.
