Lucid Gravity X: A Trail-Ready Electric Adventure Vehicle
The Lucid Gravity X, a concept electric SUV, made its world debut at the 74th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, marking Lucid Group, Inc.'s strategic entry into rugged electric vehicles. This vehicle, designed to conquer diverse terrain, was engineered to excel both on paved roads and in challenging off-road environments.
Designed with topography maps of Big Sur and Death Valley etched into recesses on the hood, the Lucid Gravity X showcases its intended rugged use. It features a wider track, a lifted ride height, custom all-terrain wheels, protective skid plates, and tow hooks for increased off-road functionality.
Under the hood, the Lucid Gravity X boasts an 828-horsepower all-wheel-drive system, derived from the Gravity Grand Touring powertrain, enabling a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 3.4 seconds. Off-road specific upgrades include beefier bumpers, orange tow hooks, and a sleek roof rack for additional utility.
Inside, the Lucid Gravity X maintains Lucid’s reputation for luxury. Premium leather seats, a microsuede-wrapped steering wheel, and high-performance floor mats are just a few of the amenities that make this SUV a comfortable ride, whether on the road to Big Sur or climbing rocky trails in the Sierra Nevada.
The Lucid Gravity X is expected to offer an EPA-estimated range around 450 miles under normal Gravity Grand Touring specs, though off-road modifications may slightly reduce this, roughly to around 380–400 miles.
Technically, the Lucid Gravity X shares features with the standard 2026 Lucid Gravity Grand Touring, including a 123 kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery, direct-drive front and rear motors (228 hp front + 600 hp rear), and a 400 kW peak DC fast-charging capability. Its dimensions make it a mid-size SUV with a wheelbase of 119.5 inches, length of 198.2 inches, and height increased by the off-road suspension tweaks.
For longtime Pebble Beach attendees, the Lucid Gravity X represents a forward-looking statement from a relatively young automaker. Derek Jenkins, Senior Vice President of Design and Brand at Lucid Group, stated that the Gravity X concept expanded on the core principles of the Lucid Gravity to explore new possibilities off-road.
The Lucid Gravity X blends the luxury expected of Lucid with a sense of rugged adventure. Bold orange accents and Lucid's Stealth Appearance trim are used to finish the front and rear fascias of the vehicle. Despite its trail-focused upgrades, the Lucid Gravity X retains Lucid's commitment to aerodynamics, a trait that has long been a hallmark of the company’s electric vehicle lineup.
