Orange Hit by Cyberattack, Disrupting Services in France and Europe

Orange, France's leading telecom provider, has experienced a cyberattack on one of its internal systems. The incident, which occurred on Friday, July 25, has led to service disruptions for some clients in France and affected operations in Europe and Africa. The French government, retaining around 23% ownership of Orange, is closely monitoring the situation to ensure strategic alignment with national digital infrastructure priorities.

Orange swiftly isolated the affected systems following the cyberattack, minimising its impact. The company serves over 290 million customers across 26 countries, offering a wide range of services including mobile telecom, fixed-line, broadband internet, and enterprise solutions. While there is no confirmed information about the culprit behind the attack, authorities are investigating the incident. Recovery efforts are ongoing, with key services expected to resume gradually by Wednesday, July 30. Notably, there is no evidence to suggest that customer or company data has been stolen.
