Over 21,000 complaints from Sakuts have been handled via the feedback system
In a significant stride towards modernising Russia's digital landscape, the national project "Data Economy and Digital State Transformation" is gaining momentum. This ambitious initiative, a key part of Russia's broader strategy to enhance its digital economy and state digital transformation by 2030, is making a tangible impact, particularly in regions like Yakutia.
The project encompasses a wide range of initiatives, including the training of IT and AI specialists, the growth of digital platforms, and the expansion of digital public services infrastructure. Notably, the educational push is expected to produce approximately 10,000 highly-qualified AI experts and 3,500 advanced IT developers by 2030. This training is being facilitated through partnerships between universities, such as ITMO University, and major companies like Gazprom Neft.
In Yakutia, while specific details about the project's implementation are not yet explicit, the overall goal is to digitize public services, creating integrated and automatic systems that improve access and efficiency for citizens across all regions. By focusing on digital transformation, the Russian government aims to bring a new quality to services, including at the local level, which would benefit regions like Yakutia by reducing bureaucratic delays and enhancing transparency.
This digital modernisation effort aligns with national-level directives to improve digital platforms for citizens and businesses, with the ultimate goal of massive adoption of technologies like the digital ruble and broad public service digitalization. The project is part of a holistic approach that includes legal reforms, technological development, and infrastructure investment designed to make digital public services scalable and user-friendly.
Moreover, Russia is focusing on international partnerships and trade to expand the use of Russian technological platforms, which could also influence regional economic development, including in Yakutia, by exposing local enterprises to new markets and technology.
In practical terms, the feedback platform, a key component of the project, is already proving effective in Yakutia. Residents can report various issues such as unregulated dumps, faulty street lighting, and hazards like metal spikes, through the state services portal form, the "Gosuslugi. Resolving Together" mobile app, or the comments section of responsible agencies' official pages. For instance, a Yakutsk resident discovered a metal spike on a sidewalk on Oiunsky Street and reported it through the feedback platform. The Central District Administration and the "Solidarnost+" management company took prompt action to remove the dangerous metal spikes.
The development of this feedback platform is supported by the national project "Data Economy and Digital State Transformation," initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The project is focused on digitizing economic sectors and social spheres, preparing IT specialists, developing quantum technologies, and artificial intelligence. The project aims to achieve technological sovereignty and leadership, make daily life easier for Russian citizens, and enhance cybercrime combat effectiveness.
The success of the project in Yakutia is evident in the high number of appeals submitted by residents. In the first half of 2025, over 21,000 appeals were submitted via the feedback platform. As the project continues to progress, it is expected to bring about further improvements in public services and address local problems effectively, as part of Russia's nationwide digital modernisation effort.
Technology plays a vital role in the initiatives under the national project "Data Economy and Digital State Transformation," as evidenced by its focus on training IT and AI specialists. The project aims to produce thousands of highly-qualified specialists by 2030, leveraging partnerships between universities and major companies. Furthermore, the digitization of public services in regions like Yakutia is a key objective, with the feedback platform serving as a means for citizens to report issues and improve access and efficiency of services.
