Paymentz Hires Consentin from Leegality to Ensure Compliance with Data Protection and Privacy Directive (DPDP)
Paymentz, a RBI-authorized payment aggregator based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, has taken a significant step towards enhancing digital personal data protection (DPDP) compliance across its platforms. The company has partnered with Consentin, a platform developed by B2B SaaS company Leegality.
Established in 2005, Paymentz offers white-label payment gateway solutions, serving as a vital infrastructural component in the card-not-present industry. With over 120 million customer consents and eSignatures, along with 15 million stamping flows, digitised by Leegality's document infrastructure platform, the partnership is set to bring about a robust DPDP compliance system.
Leegality, known for its document infrastructure platform currently in use by over 2000 Indian businesses, assists enterprises in managing the full spectrum of DPDP requirements. ConsentIn, Consentin's platform, consolidates various DPDP compliance functions into a single, secure, and easy-to-implement platform.
The partnership is a response to the enactment of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the forthcoming DPDP Rules in India, which mandate businesses handling personal data to establish systems for consent management, data processing, and governance.
Anupam Vassa, CEO of Paymentz, has expressed commitment to DPDP compliance through this partnership. He said, 'Our partnership with Consentin by Leegality is a testament to our dedication towards data protection and compliance with Indian regulations.'
The integration will extend across Paymentz's network of MSMEs, startups, and enterprise clients. ConsentIn will be integrated into Paymentz's core payment gateway services, including real-time payment processing, vendor payouts, and merchant onboarding.
The deployment of Consentin's ConsentIn platform for consent lifecycle governance, data discovery and mapping, cookie compliance, data impact assessment, and audit-ready policy workflows is part of the partnership. This will ensure end-to-end compliance regarding digital personal data protection laws across all its platforms.
Shivam Singla, CEO of Leegality, is enthusiastic about the collaboration with Paymentz in implementing DPDP compliance. He stated, 'This partnership sets a benchmark in the digital payments industry for others to mirror in terms of DPDP compliance.'
The partnership is significant as it demonstrates Paymentz's commitment to data protection and compliance with Indian regulations. It also reinforces Leegality's position as a leading provider of comprehensive solutions for compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the forthcoming DPDP Rules in India.
Other companies, such as DocuSign, have also partnered with Leegality's ConsentIn platform to implement end-to-end compliance regarding digital personal data protection laws across their platforms. This collaboration underscores the growing importance of DPDP compliance in the digital payments industry.
Paymentz is known for its secure, scalable, and white-label digital payment solutions. The company enables businesses to accept payments from customers anywhere, facilitating seamless transactions across various platforms. With the integration of Consentin's ConsentIn platform, Paymentz aims to provide its clients with an even more secure and compliant digital payment experience.
