In the picturesque town of Winterbach, nestled in the Remstal region of Germany, a historic company is making waves in the global energy industry. Pfisterer Holding SE, a specialist in connection technology for power grids, has recently announced exciting developments that are set to boost its profile and contribute to the region's growth.

After a successful stock market debut in May 2025, Pfisterer is now looking to the future with ambition and determination. One of its key projects is the construction of a state-of-the-art high-voltage laboratory, specializing in High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) technology. This cutting-edge facility, scheduled to go into operation by 2027, will be a significant investment of around 30 million euros.

The new laboratory will play a pivotal role in testing, certifying, and bringing HVDC components to series production. HVDC technology, with its significantly lower losses compared to conventional alternating current systems, is crucial for the realization of global energy networks, according to Fabrice Jedrej, head of the HVDC division at Pfisterer.

The construction of a 32-meter-high test tower in Winterbach is a testament to Pfisterer's commitment to innovation and its strategy to increase radiance, presence, and future prospects. This tower is expected to become a new landmark of the town.

In a move to further solidify its presence and show regional commitment, Pfisterer has also announced it will be the official team partner of VfB Stuttgart for the 2025/2026 season. This partnership, which marks a step out of the shadows of industrial halls and into the spotlight of the MHP Arena, is a mutual endeavour to grow internationally.

Pfisterer is also looking to collaborate with international cable manufacturers in the production of HVDC components. This cooperative approach underscores Pfisterer's commitment to staying at the forefront of the industry and to driving innovation.

Despite many companies choosing to relocate their production abroad, Pfisterer's investment in its home region emphasizes its dedication to Winterbach. The construction of the test tower is not only a novelty in the region but also a strong signal to the industry that Pfisterer is here to stay and is committed to nurturing local talent.

As Pfisterer moves forward with these exciting developments, it continues to seek engineers and technicians with expertise in high voltage, project management, and system development. With its roots deeply entrenched in Winterbach for over 100 years, Pfisterer is poised to write the next chapter in its storied history, making a significant impact on the global energy industry and its home region.
