Philips observes Earth Day today, April 22, by offering a lifetime warranty on refurbished products.

In a significant move towards sustainability, Royal Philips, a leading health technology company based in the Netherlands, has announced a lifetime warranty on all refurbished body care products sold in the Netherlands and Germany. This offer is valid for purchases made on April 22, 2025, as part of their Earth Day activation.

Philips has been a pioneer in health technology for over 130 years, with a long-standing tradition of innovation. The company's commitment to sustainability is evident in their circular portfolio, which includes refurbished products designed to reduce waste, reuse materials, and extend the lifespan of high-quality devices.

Each refurbished product undergoes a thorough inspection, professional cleaning, necessary repairs, retesting, and repackaging before being resold. These refurbished products meet the same high standards as new devices, ensuring customers receive top-quality products.

By 2024, Philips has given over 30,000 body care products a second life and recovered 10.5 tons of materials from returned devices. This initiative not only reduces waste but also has a significantly lower ecological footprint compared to manufacturing new products.

Marlies Gebetsberger, Head of Western Europe, Philips Personal Health, aims to change the perception of refurbished products as second-rate. She believes these products offer a cost-effective and sustainable alternative without compromising on quality.

In 2024, Philips generated EUR 18 billion in sales and employed approximately 67,800 employees. The company aims to generate 25% of its revenue from circular products and solutions by 2025.

The project, named Refurb Friday, aims to raise awareness about reuse and encourage consumers to rethink the definition of 'news'. Philips launched a pilot project during Black Friday 2024, showcasing refurbished products during a major shopping event in the Benelux countries.

All Philips refurbished products and the Earth Day offer can be found on www.philips.de/refurbished. For more information, please contact Philips' press contact at [email protected].

With this initiative, Philips is setting a new standard for sustainability in the personal care industry, offering a more sustainable and cost-effective alternative to consumers.
