Police Classic Museum Marburg's Second-to-Last Open Day: See New 1979 Thyssen TM 170 SPV
The Police Classic Museum Marburg is set to host its second-to-last open day of the year on Sunday, September 21, 2025. The event, free to attend, will showcase over 110 historical police vehicles, including a new addition - an original 1979 police special vehicle (SPV) known as the Thyssen TM 170.
The museum, situated on district road 69 towards the district of Cyriaxweimar (Cyriaxstr. 103), will open its doors from 11 am to 5 pm. The Thyssen TM 170, once used by the special operations command (SOC) in Essen, is now preserved in its original condition. This vehicle joins the collection acquired by the Thüringer Tourismus GmbH and the Regionalverbund Thüringer Wald e. V., which were handed over in a ceremonial event on June 6, 2025.
Visitors can explore the rich history of policing through these vintage vehicles. Detailed information about the upcoming museum day can be found at https://policeclassics.de/events/museum-opening-on-september-21-2025.
