New Release: SynthEyes 2025.5 Simplifies 3D Match-Moving Workflows with AI-Assisted Features

SynthEyes 2025.5, the latest offering from Boris FX, introduces a host of updates designed to streamline and accelerate 3D match-moving workflows. This new release boasts several key features, including AI-powered motion tracking, improved lens workflow exports, and enhanced mask control.

AI-Powered Motion Tracking with ML Motion Estimation

The highlight of SynthEyes 2025.5 is the introduction of ML Motion Estimation, an AI-powered motion tracking mode. This innovative feature uses deep learning to calculate optical flow between frames, enabling automatic tracking on challenging surfaces with little texture, such as smooth walls or vehicles. It performs exceptionally well during fast camera motions or heavy movement, overcoming limitations of traditional tracking methods.

Streamlined Lens Workflow Export

SynthEyes 2025.5 also offers a streamlined process for exporting lens data. This feature ensures consistent and platform-ready results across various pipelines, facilitating smoother integration into different post-production environments.

Parent Mesh to Tracker and Mask Enhancements

Additional tools and enhancements include a mesh-to-track parenting feature, Parent Mesh to Tracker, which allows fast and intuitive attachment of objects within a scene, enhancing control for experienced match-movers and speeding up the workflow. The new mask dilation setting in Mask ML reduces cleanups and improves results, providing artists with more control over mask behavior.

Improved Interoperability and Pricing

SynthEyes 2025.5 supports automatic orientation handling on video files with rotation metadata (TIFF, PNG, JPEG, ProRes). It also offers a dedicated LUTs folder and handles lens distortion across major platforms.

The new release is available as a low-cost standalone application, with prices starting at $325/year or $62/month. Customers with active SynthEyes or Boris FX Suite subscriptions or upgrade & support plans receive the 2025.5 product release as a complimentary update.

SynthEyes 2025.5 now supports Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K 65 and is available with subscription, perpetual, and upgrade & support renewal options.
