The new mobile station in Edemissen, equipped with 5G technology, serves approximately 3,000 residents and guests, eliminating a dead zone in mobile broadband coverage. This expansion is part of Vodafone's plan to expand its mobile data highways for LTE and 5G+ in the coming years.
As of now, Vodafone's 5G network in Peine is in the expansion and testing phase. While the network is not yet reporting full commercial coverage, local user reports indicate ongoing network improvements. Cell Broadcast technology warns the surrounding population via smartphone in case of danger, such as large fires, gas explosions, or floods.

The company currently operates 35 mobile stations in the district, all of which are equipped with the mobile broadband technology LTE. 28 of these stations also have the broadband technology 5G on board.
In its nationwide cable-fiber network, Vodafone aims to reach two-thirds of all German households with gigabit speed. The company's machine network (Narrowband IoT) covers more than 97% of German territory for industry and business.
