Production of the new Renault Twingo E-Tech is near
The automotive world is abuzz with excitement as Renault prepares to unveil its latest creation - the electric Twingo. After a swift development process of just 21 months, the new model is set to hit the market in spring 2026.
Renault has kept many details under wraps, but it's clear that the Twingo E-Tech Electric will be based on a shortened version of the AmpR Small architecture, which has already proven successful in the Renault 4 and Renault 5 electric models.

The battery pack, reportedly provided by CATL, is expected to be around 40 kWh, enabling an estimated driving range of over 200 miles (320 km).
Renault's emphasis on a swift development cycle reflects the fast-moving electric vehicle market. The new Twingo is expected to be competitively priced, with a projected cost under 20,000 euros.
The development of the new Twingo is a joint effort between French and Chinese partners, with development and technical coordination taking place in China at the Renault subsidiary Ampere. The prototype of the electric city car was recently spotted near the Renault test center in Aubevoye.
Production of the electric Twingo will begin in the Slovenian plant Novo Mesto in autumn 2025. The design of the new Twingo is said to be created in France, with the current prototype heavily inspired by the 1993 original model externally.
