Quang Ngai Sugar's H1 2025 Results: Assets Top VND15.5T, Expansion Plans Unveiled
Quang Ngai Sugar, a leading name in Vietnam's sugar industry, has announced impressive financial results for the first half of 2025. The company's total assets have surpassed VND15,570 billion as of June 30, 2025, while its net revenue and profit after tax stood at over VND5,509 billion ($208.79 million) and VND1,159 billion ($43.93 million) respectively.
The company's success can be attributed to its strategic investments and expansions. Quang Ngai Sugar has received approval to increase the capacity of its An Khe Biomass Power Plant project from 95 MW to 135 MW. The second phase of this plant is expected to complete investment procedures in Q4/2025, commence construction in Q1/2026, and start production in Q4/2027. This expansion is set to cost VND846.7 billion ($32.09 million), raising the total investment to over VND2,753 billion ($104.34 million).
Quang Ngai Sugar's An Khe Sugar Plant has been performing exceptionally well, with an output of 243,000 tons in the 2024-2025 season. This plant, with a capacity to press 18,000 tons of sugarcane per day and refine 1,000 tons of sugar per day, accounts for over 20% of the country's total annual sugar output. The company is also implementing three projects with a total investment of over VND3,700 billion ($140.23 million), including expanding the An Khe Sugar Plant's capacity, adding a turbine to the An Khe Biomass Power Plant, and investing in the An Khe Ethanol Plant.
Quang Ngai Sugar's expansion doesn't stop at its An Khe cluster. The company has built a large-scale biomass power and sugar making cluster in Gia Lai province, comprising the An Khe Sugar Plant, An Khe Biomass Power Plant, An Khe Agricultural Machinery Company, and Gia Lai Sugarcane Application and Research Center. This diversification strategy has proven successful, contributing to the company's remarkable financial performance in the first half of 2025.
Quang Ngai Sugar's impressive financial results and expansion plans indicate a strong trajectory for the company. With its An Khe Sugar Plant's significant contribution to the country's sugar output and the successful expansion of its An Khe Biomass Power Plant, the company is well-positioned to continue its growth.
