Realization confirms that Star Wars speeder bikes exist in reality - and they're capable of astonishing velocities
In an exciting development, Polish company Volonaut has unveiled its latest creation – the Airbike. This one-of-a-kind vehicle promises to revolutionise personal transportation, allowing individuals to ride it in the air outside densely populated areas without the need for a pilot's license.
The Airbike, which bears a striking resemblance to a speeder bike from Star Wars, has been the subject of much controversy since its original release. However, Volonaut founder Tomasz Patan has confirmed that the Airbike footage is authentic and was not created with AI, CGI, or special effects.
The Airbike is designed to provide automatic hover capability and ease of control for its rider. It features a proprietary stabilization system enhanced by a flight computer, ensuring a smooth and stable flight. The Airbike's propulsion method is loud, but this seems a small price to pay for the thrill of flying.
The new flight footage shows the Airbike flying over a test ground, reaching speeds of 124mph. The commercial hoverbike version, intended to meet the 'ultralight' classification requirements, is expected to have a top speed of 63mph.
Volonaut has also announced that pre-order reservations for the Airbike will open on August 1. To ensure owners learn to safely and responsibly operate their AirBikes, Volonaut will offer specially developed training.
The Airbike's price at launch is £649,000 ($880,000), making it a luxury item for many. However, for those who can afford it, the Airbike offers an experience that seems to defy the laws of physics, as it generates lift and maintains stability without visible means.
Despite the controversy, the Airbike is a testament to the ingenuity and innovation of its creator, Jakub Różycki, the Polish inventor and founder of Volonaut. The first flight footage of the pre-production version of the Airbike is expected to be shared in 2026, promising more exciting developments in the world of personal aviation.
