Regensburg County Administration Unveils 156 kWp PV Carport System
Regensburg County Administration has inaugurated a new photovoltaic carport system on its parking lot. This innovative project, the second major initiative by KERL in 2025, aims to supply the administrative building with clean, cost-effective electricity while sparing the landscape.
The PV carport system, with a capacity of 156 kWp, is designed to meet the actual electricity needs of the county administration. It avoids overproduction by using the electricity directly on site, relieving networks and saving costs for network expansion. This approach aligns with KERL's commitment to utilising already sealed areas, such as parking lots, to minimise environmental impact.
KERL, a cooperative established by the municipalities and city of Regensburg, has implemented this project as part of its mission to promote renewable energy. Following the successful installation of a photovoltaic system on the roof of the Realschule Regenstauf, the carport system is another significant step towards a sustainable future.
