Rohde & Schwarz to Showcase TE1, a Powerful and Energy-Efficient ATSC 3.0 Transmitter, at NAB Show New York
Steven Edwards, Vice President of Broadcast Distribution at Rohde & Schwarz, has announced that the R&S TE1 will be the company's future transmitter platform. Designed specifically for the North American Broadcast market, the R&S TE1 is aimed at solving current and future problems of broadcasters.
The R&S TE1 is a native ATSC 3.0 design that addresses challenges such as high energy consumption, environmental impact, and complex maintenance requirements of traditional transmitters. With its advanced intelligence, the R&S TE1 monitors its own health and notifies the user when maintenance may be required.
One of the key features of the R&S TE1 is its liquid cooling system, which eliminates the need for power-intensive air conditioning, reducing the carbon footprint. This design technique, combined with modern design methods, provides greater efficiency, significantly reducing the environmental impact and cost of high-power transmission.
Rohde & Schwarz will be showcasing the R&S TE1 and the Remote Transmitter Monitoring Service (RMTX) at the 2024 NAB Show New York in booth 1207. The RMTX service provides a solution to the scarcity of specialized RF engineers for U.S. broadcasters.
