Ryder's Gary Allen Discusses Automation, Scalability, and Supply Chain Excellence in Interview

In the rapidly evolving world of logistics, the importance of integration, redundancy, and analytics in deploying and scaling multiple technologies cannot be overstated. This will be the focus of a panel discussion taking place on September 24 at ALSC Global in Detroit.

Gary Allen, Vice President of Supply Chain Excellence at Ryder, will be leading the panel discussion, titled 'Smart moves: Powering parts flows and material handling with automation and robotics'. Allen will be previewing Ryder's case studies and lessons learned over the past eight years, emphasising the automation of their 300+ warehouses, with around 40% already automated.

Allen will also discuss the automation of supply chains, a topic he has previously covered in an interview produced by Automotive Logistics in partnership with Ryder. The interview, which includes videos featuring Allen, Daryl Knight, Sergio Belli, David Resetar, Manoj Tiwary, and Chandan Trehan, delves into the strongest return on investment for Ryder's automation, being achieved in specific areas.

Daryl Knight will be discussing turning disruption into opportunity in logistics, while Sergio Belli talks about MSC's standalone strategy for resilient automotive supply chains. Manoj Tiwary will discuss digitalisation, data platforms, and scaling solutions, and Chandan Trehan will discuss failing correctly and ensuring digital fluency.

David Resetar will discuss resilience, localisation, and shifting global supply chains. The main message from Allen for the panel discussion is careful vetting, the right partnerships, and ensuring automation investments deliver on productivity and service expectations.

Registration for the event is available here. The panel discussion is part of Ryder's partnership as a premier partner for Automotive Logistics and Supply Chain Global 2025 in Detroit. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from industry leaders on the future of automation and robotics in supply chains.
