NUFAM 2023 Showcases Future of Commercial Vehicle Industry

The NUFAM 2023 in Karlsruhe attracted approximately 24,000 visitors from September 21 to 24, with a strong focus on alternative drives, digitization, and sustainability. These themes reflect the industry's shift towards future-oriented technology and environmental responsibility.

Alternative Drives and E-Mobility

The event highlighted growing interest in electric and other alternative powertrains for commercial vehicles. For instance, e-mobility solutions tailored for urban logistics and specialized industry needs, such as glass and window transport vehicles adapting to electric drives, were prominently showcased.

Digitization and Telematics

Digital service platforms and telematics systems were a significant part of the exhibition, enabling smarter fleet management, predictive maintenance, and enhanced connectivity between vehicles and operators. NUFAM emphasized digital transformation in commercial vehicles, supporting smarter, more efficient, and safer operations at scale.

Sustainability

Sustainability was integrated throughout the event, including the use of eco-friendly materials, lifecycle management, and infrastructure improvements that promote greener logistics and supply chains. Leading companies presented solutions addressing the entire value chain's environmental impact, going beyond vehicles themselves to include logistics and infrastructure.

Industry-Specific Innovations

Exhibitors such as HEGLA Fahrzeugbau featured innovations in specialized commercial vehicles, incorporating digitalization and sustainability considerations to optimize operator friendliness, safety, and efficiency.

Networking and Future Concepts

NUFAM also served as a platform for networking and exploring future transport concepts, integrating smart city logistics, advanced automotive components, and sustainable aftermarket solutions.

Speedywash at NUFAM

Speedywash, a Bavarian brush washing system specialist, attended the event and held a dealer meeting. The company showcased its battery-operated, emission-free Battery Easydrive model, one of three mobile one-brush washing systems presented at the show. The Battery Easydrive model, with its height-adjustable and movable steering tiller, reduces washing time to less than ten minutes on average.

The sales director, Adolf Binni, described the event as one of the best shows in 2023 for the company. A battery return system is available for Speedywash equipment, and an optional water-saving system is offered. Rainwater can be used instead of fresh water in Speedywash equipment, making it more eco-friendly.

Success of the Event

The organizers considered the event a success, attracting a high number of professional visitors and having a wide international reach. Brushes used in Speedywash equipment are made in Germany.

In summary, NUFAM 2023 underscores the convergence of alternative drive technologies, digital transformation, and sustainability efforts as key drivers shaping the commercial vehicle industry's present and future innovations. This aligns with broader trends across Europe focusing on cleaner, smarter, and more efficient commercial transport solutions.
