Samsung will commence deleting inactive and unwanted accounts starting from July

Samsung is gearing up for a busy summer, with plans to purge old, inactive accounts and unveil a series of new products.

Starting July 31, 2027, Samsung will implement its "inactive Samsung account policy." Any account that has been inactive since July 2025 will be permanently deleted along with all linked data, including photo backups, Samsung Health statistics, and saved app settings. To avoid data loss, users must sign in at least once before this date, effectively resetting the inactivity clock.

In an effort to prepare users for this change, Samsung is sending out emails to older, dormant accounts. The policy is intended to protect the data of users who have left their accounts behind. If a user does not sign in before July 31, their data will be removed from Samsung's servers, and access to these accounts will be restricted.

In other news, Samsung is also moving forward with its software updates. The tech giant recently rolled out its One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S25 series, following closely behind Google's pace with Android 16. Users in the beta can expect a hugely revamped user interface and several key AI updates.

As for hardware, Samsung's summer plans include major reveals such as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, Galaxy Watch 8, and Watch 8 Classic. The event is expected to return to New York this year, according to a South Korean outlet. Samsung's upcoming foldables will be covered in the Ultimate Guide.

The company's new policy and upcoming product reveals are being reported by SamMobile. With Samsung's commitment to data protection and innovative technology, it's shaping up to be an exciting summer for Samsung users.

On July 31, 2027, the inactive Samsung account policy will take effect, resulting in the deletion of dormant accounts along with their associated data such as photo backups, Samsung Health statistics, and saved app settings. Samsung is readying to unveil a range of new products this summer, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, Galaxy Watch 8, and Watch 8 Classic, showcasing their commitment to cutting-edge technology and exciting hardware releases.
