SanDisk, a prominent storage solutions manufacturer, has launched the WD_BLACK SN7100 NVMe SSD in India. Designed with gamers and users requiring high-speed storage in mind, this device employs TLC 3D NAND architecture and PCIe Gen 4, delivering faster performance compared to its predecessor.
According to the company, the 1TB and 2TB versions of the SSD exhibit read speeds of up to 7,250MB/s and write speeds of up to 6,900MB/s. This represents a 35% improvement in performance over the previous model.
The new SSD has been optimized for gaming laptops, desktops, and handheld consoles, and offers a more power-efficient operation with a claimed 100% improvement in power usage during peak performance. The 4TB model, in particular, boasts an endurance of up to 1,200TBW (terabytes written), supporting sustained use for tasks such as gameplay recording and content creation.
The SN7100 comes in four different variants: 500GB, 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB. It also features a DRAM-less design and includes software support through the WD_BLACK Dashboard for system health checks and firmware updates. Customers can benefit from a 5-year limited warranty.
The WD_BLACK SN7110 NVMe SSD is now available in India through IT retailers and online marketplaces like Amazon and the official website. The 500GB model starts at Rs 4,899, making it an accessible solution for performance-driven users.
