Sermatec Unveils Mass-Produced 6.25 MWh Energy Storage System
Sermatec, a Shanghai-based energy tech firm established in 2017, has unveiled its mass-produced Serattice series 6.25 MWh containerised energy storage system. The company, specialising in energy storage solutions and digital energy operations, has not disclosed its founder or founding year.
The system, a 20-foot container, integrates battery modules, thermal management, fire protection, power conversion, and control electronics. It boasts a layered safety architecture with real-time cell health monitoring, early warnings, fault diagnostics, and battery module-level fuses. Notably, it can withstand fire exposure for two hours, containing thermal runaway spread.
Sermatec's dynamic thermal management strategy reduces auxiliary power consumption by more than 40%. The system operates reliably within a temperature range of -30 °C to +55 °C and at altitudes up to 5,000 m. It is compatible with both centralized and modular string power conversion system (PCS) architectures.
Manufactured using 587 Ah battery cells, the Serattice series is set for mass production. Sermatec operates multiple production bases domestically and internationally, with a global service and sales network. Initial shipments are scheduled in Q4 2025 in China, following the establishment of automated production lines and a mature supply chain for large-scale deliveries.
Sermatec's Serattice series 6.25 MWh containerised energy storage system, with its robust safety features and efficient thermal management, is poised to make a significant impact in the energy storage market. With mass production underway and initial shipments planned for later this year, the company's innovative solution is set to contribute to global energy operations.
