SES Wins £12.5m MEP Contract for University of Bath's Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle Research Hub
SES Engineering Services (SES) has been chosen to deliver £12.5m worth of MEP services for the University of Bath's £70m Institute for Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems (IAAPS) on its website. The IAAPS project aims to drive innovation in ultra-low emission vehicles. SES will provide full mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services across the 11,300 sq m IAAPS site, which houses 17 specialist pieces of equipment for testing vehicle propulsion systems, as well as offices and workshops. Work on the IAAPS site began in October 2019 and is expected to be completed in August 2020, with the facility becoming operational in early 2021. The SES team, led by Operations Manager Andy Harris, will collaborate with main contractor Rydon Construction and other stakeholders during the design process. The IAAPS project is expected to be a catalyst for developing future generations of ultra-low emission vehicles. SES' technical expertise and experience in automotive research establishments, as highlighted by Business Director Steve Tovey, helped secure the contract for this world-leading research and innovation center.
