Skoda reveals a glimpse of its future station wagon, unveiling the Vision 0 Concept

Skoda is set to unveil a new concept estate car, called the Vision O, at the Munich Motor Show in Germany in September. The Vision O, rumored to be under five meters in length, suggests it could be Octavia-sized, offering a glimpse into Skoda's future Octavia Estate model.

The Vision O will showcase an evolution of Skoda's Modern Solid design language, which has already been featured on the Elroq small SUV and refreshed Enyaq. This design language is characterized by the illuminated 'Tech-Deck Face', a modern interpretation of the traditional Skoda grille.

While specific technical details such as battery capacity or motor output have not been disclosed, the Vision O is explicitly confirmed to be fully electric, representing Skoda's commitment to sustainable innovation and circularity in design and production.

Regarding size, the Vision O’s design is aligned with the dimensions and proportions expected for the Octavia estate segment rather than the larger Superb Estate. The concept aims to evolve Skoda's estate models for the future under new technologies and sustainability goals, positioning the Vision O as a clear preview of the electric Octavia Estate line rather than the Superb Estate.

Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Skoda Auto, commented on the teaser image reveal, stating that the Vision O design study will highlight the future trajectory of estate models under the influence of new technologies, sustainability, and Skoda's deep experience in this segment.

It's unknown if a future Octavia-sized electric estate would replace the existing petrol- and hybrid-powered Octavia. Skoda may choose to extend the current Octavia's lifecycle instead of replacing it with an electric model.

The Vision O is expected to use the Volkswagen Group's new SSP architecture and is positioned as a showcase of Skoda's 100-year history in making estate cars. The world premiere of the Vision O is scheduled for early September 2025, marking another step in Skoda's ongoing development of electric vehicles.

The teaser image published by Skoda shows a classic estate car silhouette, hinting at a sleek, aerodynamic design. The Vision O is set to be one of Skoda's most significant steps in developing and evolving their design language for the transition period in the automotive industry, positioning the brand as a major player in the estate segment, where they have been engaged since the 1920s.
