SolarEdge Unveils Nexis: Modular Solar & Energy Storage System for Residential Projects
SolarEdge has unveiled Nexis, a modular solar and energy storage system designed for residential projects. The system, launched in 2025, offers a range of benefits including whole-home backup, load shifting, and energy arbitrage.
The Nexis system comprises stackable battery modules, each adding 4.9 kWh of storage and 3.5 kW of power. Up to four units can be stacked together, providing 19.6 kWh and 13 kW per stack. The integrated battery and inverter solution supports whole-home backup, partial-home backup, time-of-use load shifting, energy arbitrage, and self-consumption.
The Nexis inverter is DC-optimized, boasting a 99% weighted efficiency, and supports module-level monitoring. It can handle up to four batteries per inverter, totalling 78.4 kWh of storage. Furthermore, up to three inverters can be used per site, increasing the storage capacity to a substantial 235.2 kWh.
To facilitate solar plus battery installations without a main panel upgrade, SolarEdge also introduced the Nexis IslandDER, a meter socket adapter. The roll-out of the Nexis solution is scheduled to begin in 2026.
The Nexis system's modular design, high efficiency, and extensive storage capacity make it a compelling choice for residential solar and energy storage projects. With its launch in 2025 and roll-out planned for 2026, Nexis is set to make a significant impact in the renewable energy sector.
