Sony Honda Mobility Inc. (SHM) has announced an exciting collaboration with Polyphony Digital Inc. to create a unique e-Motor Sound for its in-car audio system. This partnership, set to enhance the driving experience in SHM's vehicles, was revealed on January 6, 2025.
Polyphony Digital, renowned for its work on the 'Gran Turismo' series, will bring its expertise in sound engineering to the project. The company has previously collaborated with SHM on in-vehicle development since January 8, 2024. Izumi Kawanishi, Representative Director, President and COO of SHM, expressed his delight in having Polyphony Digital supervise the creation of the optimal sound for SHM's vehicles.
The e-Motor Sound is a crucial element in realizing SHM's vision for new mobility. It aims to enhance the sense of unity between the driver and the car during acceleration, deceleration, and cornering. SHM's first model, 'our website 1', is scheduled for official launch in California, USA, by the end of 2025, and the e-Motor Sound will play a significant role in this innovative vehicle.
