Struggles persist for VW subsidiary amidst immense technical issue!

In recent news, German publication "Auto motor und sport" has reported issues with the communication module in Audi's 2020 A4 and A5 model ranges [1]. According to the report, these failures can impact several key safety features such as lane keeping assist, emergency braking assistant, distance control, adaptive early warning system, emergency call assistant, Bluetooth, mobile phone connections, and traffic sign recognition.

The failures can also lead to incorrect position display in the navigation system and, in extreme cases, cause the car to suddenly accelerate despite the speed limit if the traffic sign recognition no longer works. These issues can have serious consequences for vehicle safety.

Audi has confirmed the problems with the communication module and has announced that a solution will be presented for the affected vehicles at the beginning of August [2]. However, as of now (30 July), a specific solution for the affected models is still pending.

It's important to note that there is no specific recall announced for 2020 Audi models related to failures in the communication module according to the latest available information [3]. Current recalls for Audi models from around 2020 focus on other issues such as brake pedal defects, seat frame problems, airbag inflators, and rearview camera failures, but none explicitly mention communication module failures for the 2020 model year.

An affected driver and ADAC (German Automobile Club) have reported an increase in complaints about Audi. The affected vehicles are approximately 17,000 models of the A4 and A5 model ranges from the 2020 model year.

Audi has identified cell broadcasting messages in the mobile phone network as the cause of the failures [4]. Owners suspecting problems with their vehicles should confirm via official Audi or NHTSA recall databases or contact Audi customer service directly.
