BMW and Volkswagen Unveil Exciting New Electric Models and the All-New M5 Touring

In the world of automotive manufacturing, 2026 promises to be a significant year for both BMW and Volkswagen.

BMW's M5 Touring and Upcoming Releases

At the IAA Mobility Show in Munich, BMW showcased an all-new long-roof supercar – the M5 Touring. The M5 Touring, finished in Daytona Violet and featuring M Performance Parts, has a unique design that could be divisive, with some preferring the current design and others eager for a fresh look.

The M5 Touring, with its optional carbon-ceramic brakes, is not the only BMW model set for an update. Photos of the M5 Touring can be found at www.qr-photography.com. The facelifted M5 sedan has already been spotted testing.

The M5 Touring's wheels feature a "Y" spoke layout and self-leveling center caps, while the unique wheels for the M5 Touring are the 1075 M design in Frozen Gold Bronze. There could be a more expensive version of the M5 Touring, an M5 CS Touring, but its introduction is not expected before the Life Cycle Impulse.

Munich is expected to be busy with model releases in the coming years. Alongside the M5 Touring, the electric i3 sedan and its gas-fueled 3 Series sibling, the next-generation X5, and the facelifted 7 Series will be unveiled in 2026.

Volkswagen's Neue Klasse Models

Meanwhile, Volkswagen is gearing up for the launch of several new models in 2026. In Germany, Volkswagen will introduce the VW ID.Polo, the VW ID.Cross SUV, and the VW ID.Polo GTI, all of which will receive the Neue Klasse treatment with advanced electric technology and updated designs based on the MEB+ platform.

By the end of 2027, over 40 new or updated models will join the Neue Klasse lineup. The next-generation models will trace their lineage back to the new iX3.

These exciting developments in the automotive industry are set to redefine the way we travel and experience cars, with both BMW and Volkswagen pushing the boundaries of design, technology, and performance.
