Taylor introduces a significant modification to the sound profile of its premium Gold Label Grand Pacific model, resulting in noticeable changes to the overall tone.
**Taylor Guitars Introduces New Gold Label Grand Pacific Acoustic Guitars**
Taylor Guitars has expanded its Gold Label acoustic guitar range with six new Grand Pacific models, each featuring the innovative Fanned V-Class bracing architecture and a deeper body design for enhanced sonic fullness and low-end expansiveness.
The new Grand Pacific models boast a deeper body compared to Taylor's usual Grand Pacific methodology, reaching a full 5-inch depth at the soundhole. This increase in depth provides greater "lung capacity," resulting in richer low-end response, more volume, and enhanced harmonic richness without compromising clarity or presence.
The Fanned V-Class bracing architecture is an evolutionary update on Taylor’s original V-Class bracing, enriching midrange tonal color, enhancing sonic depth, and improving pitch accuracy across strings. This development was first introduced in Taylor's Super Auditorium builds in January.
The guitars are built around two tonewood pairings: torrefied Sitka spruce tops with mahogany or Indian rosewood backs and sides. Torrefied Sitka spruce tops offer stability and a well-aged tonal character, while mahogany and Indian rosewood provide distinct tonal flavors and warmth.
Each wood pairing comes with three exclusive finish options—Natural, Sunburst, and Blacktop—allowing aesthetic variety within the lineup. The fretboards are crafted from West African Crelicam ebony, known for smooth playability and durability, while bridges are made from Honduran rosewood, adding to the instrument’s tonal quality.
Featuring Taylor’s patented Action Control Neck joints, these guitars allow for quick and easy setup adjustments, maintaining optimal playability and comfort. The amplification for the new Gold Label models comes from an LR Baggs Element VTC pickup, and there are Taylor-made nickel tuners.
The Gold Label 717e models are priced at $2,799 for the natural model and $2,999 for its variants. The Gold Label 517e is priced at $2,599 in a natural finish, rising to $2,799 for the Blacktop, and the 517e SB models are priced at $2,799 with Cream or Firestripe pickguards. All new Gold Label models come with a deluxe hardshell case.
The new Gold Label Grand Pacific acoustic guitars aim to blend a vintage, warm, and earthy tonal palette with punch and dynamic response, making them versatile for both aggressive strumming and nuanced lighter playing styles. These models merge traditional acoustic warmth and modern design precision, delivering a robust, full-bodied sound that breathes with harmonic depth and clarity, tailored for players seeking a vintage-voiced guitar with contemporary performance features.
