Tech entrepreneur Michel Perridon, renowned for his accomplishments in the computer mouse industry, marks history with a $12 million Bugatti Brouillard hypercar purchase, showcasing his latest labor of luxury.

Introducing the Unique Bugatti Brouillard Hypercar

The Bugatti Brouillard, a one-of-a-kind hypercar, is set to make its grand debut, marking a significant milestone in the automotive world. Based on the Bugatti Mistral, the Brouillard is the first creation to emerge from the Programme Solitaire, a customization programme offered by Bugatti that allows customers to tailor existing models to their preferences.

Michel Perridon, a 62-year-old Dutch entrepreneur who made his fortune selling computer keyboards and mice, is the man behind this extraordinary vehicle. Known for his passion for automobiles, Perridon has ordered this masterpiece, named after the Brouillard racehorse, which was Ettore Bugatti's favourite.

The Brouillard boasts several unique features that set it apart from the Mistral. The most notable changes can be found in its aerodynamics and design. The car features a more dramatically shaped rear diffuser, exposing large portions of the wide rear tires, and a fixed ducktail spoiler that improves aerodynamic balance. The air intakes have been designed to create a pressure drop, enhancing airflow through the radiators for optimal cooling.

The exhaust system has also undergone a significant transformation. The Brouillard replaces the Mistral's trapezoidal exhaust tips with two pairs of round exhaust tips stacked vertically, similar to those on the Chiron Super Sport, plus two additional hidden pipes. This layout maximizes the functional surface area of the rear diffuser for improved aerodynamics.

The Brouillard's bodywork has been reshaped and redesigned, resulting in a longer and lower silhouette that creates a sportier, more elegant presence. The front grille is horseshoe-shaped, and LED headlights draw design inspiration from the Mistral but are uniquely integrated. The wheels are specially designed lightweight alloys with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

Inside, the Brouillard's interior combines traditional and innovative materials, including custom-woven Parisian tartan fabrics, green-tinted carbon fiber, more machined aluminum components, and a glass roof that creates a cathedral-like atmosphere. The interior layout broadly follows the Chiron but with bespoke craftsmanship and materials.

Under the hood, the Brouillard houses the highest evolution of the W16 engine, producing approximately 1,600 hp, compared to the Mistral’s approximately 1,500 hp. Given the Mistral’s impressive 282 mph top speed without a roof, the Brouillard is potentially faster, although exact performance figures are undisclosed.

The Brouillard will be exhibited at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering in Carmel, California, in August. However, the car is not yet in Perridon's collection as it is nearing completion.

This singular collector’s masterpiece blends heritage symbolism with cutting-edge hypercar technology and performance, making it a fitting addition to the prestigious Programme Solitaire. The Brouillard is not just an upgraded version of the Mistral; it is a testament to Bugatti's unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive design and performance.
