Tech exhibit @ CES PreAct to unveil innovation in LiDAR technology with products such as Sahara, Borrego, and Moab.
PreAct Technologies Introduces New Line of Flash LiDAR Sensors
PreAct Technologies, a leading innovator in LiDAR technology, has recently unveiled a new line of flash LiDAR sensors: Sahara, Borrego, and Moab. These sensors are designed to cater to various industries, including agriculture, healthcare, smart cities, retail, security, transportation, education, and any field requiring 3D mapping and modeling.
Let's take a closer look at each sensor:
Sahara
Sahara is a versatile sensor suitable for outdoor use cases with up to 20 meters sensing capabilities. It is designed for harsh ambient light settings and boasts an IP69K rating, ensuring it can withstand even the toughest environmental conditions. Sahara's small packaging, measuring 110mm x 45mm x 33mm, makes it ideal for integration into a wide range of devices.
Sahara's Field of View (FOV) spans 70 x 52.5 degrees, and it offers a resolution of 320 x 240 (77k pixels). The sensor's power consumption ranges from 6 to 42 watts, based on software selectable illumination and frame rate. Sahara's depth accuracy is less than 2% error, and it provides 1.4 million points per second of depth information.
Borrego
Borrego is designed for long, narrow space coverage in security, logistics, and agriculture applications. It has a low power standby of 4 watts (typ) and a resolution of 320 x 240 (77k pixels). Borrego's Field of View (FOV) is 108 x 77 degrees, offering a wide angle view. The sensor's range is 16.5 meters @ 20% reflectivity.
Moab
Moab is a combination of PreAct's general purpose LiDAR sensor and Nvidia's Jetson Nano, making it an excellent choice for education, healthcare, smart cities, ITS, agriculture, retail, security applications, and more. Moab's maximum power is 30 watts, and it offers a resolution of 320 x 240 (77k pixels). Its FOV spans 108 x 77 degrees, providing a wide field of view.
Moab's single unit retail cost is $350, making it an affordable solution for a wide range of applications.
Global Distribution
The Sahara, Borrego, and Moab sensors from PreAct Technologies are distributed worldwide by multiple global partners. While specific company names are not publicly detailed, these partnerships ensure the sensors are readily available to customers globally.
Industry First
In April, PreAct launched Mojave, the industry's first software-definable flash LiDAR. Mojave, like Moab, is a combination of PreAct's general purpose LiDAR sensor and Nvidia's Jetson Nano, but it is suitable for education, healthcare, smart cities, ITS, agriculture, retail, security applications, and more. Mojave's range is 7 meters @ 10% reflectivity, and it has a depth accuracy error of less than 2%.
Mojave is distributed globally by Amazon, Brevan Electronics, Arrow Electronics, and Digikey, making it easily accessible to customers worldwide.
These new sensors from PreAct Technologies are set to revolutionise various industries by providing accurate, reliable, and affordable LiDAR technology.
