Telegram's creator and a key figure from Google's research department are planning a trip to Astana.

The International AI Center alem.ai is set to open on October 2 in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, with a host of influential personalities in attendance. The opening ceremony will be announced by Jaskhan Madiev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry, and will be attended by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The event will mark a significant milestone in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) in the region. Among the distinguished guests will be Ilya Strebulev, a Professor at Stanford University, and Kai-Fu Lee, the Founder and CEO of Sinovation Ventures. Lee is a renowned expert in AI and technology, known for his work in China's tech industry. Pavel Durov, the Founder and CEO of Telegram, will also be in attendance. Durov's messaging app has gained significant popularity worldwide, particularly for its focus on privacy and security. The ceremony will include a plenary session, where speakers such as Omar Sultan Al Olama, Ilya Strebulev, Kai-Fu Lee, Peter Norvig, Pavel Durov, and Lily Liu (Moderator) will discuss the future of AI and its potential impact on various sectors. In addition to the plenary session, the Generative Nation Pitch will take place on the same day. This national pitch session for AI projects will feature four categories: schoolchildren (12-18 years), college and university students, startup teams with a ready MVP, and research projects. The Generative Nation Pitch finalists will compete in their respective categories, showcasing their innovative AI projects. Peter Norvig, a Research Scientist at Stanford University and Director of Research at Google, is also involved in the Generative Nation Pitch. Norvig's expertise in AI and machine learning will undoubtedly add value to the event.
