Telekom to Initiate Extensive Fiber Expansion in North West and Quellberg, Particularly in Dülmen
In an exciting development, Deutsche Telekom AG is set to expand its fiber optic network to the districts of Nordwest and Quellberg in Dülmen, covering approximately 3,000 households. This expansion, scheduled to begin in mid-October 2025, promises to offer a faster and more reliable connection for digital learning, working, streaming, and gaming.
The new fiber optic network will enable significantly higher speeds of up to 1,000 megabits per second, a significant improvement over the existing copper network. Fiber optic cables enable significantly higher transmission rates, allowing for lightning-fast upload and download of vast amounts of data. Moreover, fiber optics is good for the climate as it consumes less energy than the existing copper network.
To check if a fiber optic connection is possible at your address, visit www.telekom.de/glasfaser. Starting from October 1st, 2025, sales representatives will provide doorstep advice on behalf of the Telekom, wearing clothing with a Telekom logo and carrying an ID card and authorization letter.
Over 46 kilometers of trench work and 31 new network distributors will be installed during the expansion. The total construction time for both areas is estimated to be around twelve months. Work will be carried out in individual sections to minimize inconvenience for residents.
