New Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) Tesla Cybertruck Hits Canadian Market

The latest addition to the Tesla Cybertruck family, the Long Range RWD variant, has made its way to Canada. With a price tag of approximately $69,990 CAD, this electric pickup truck offers a range of up to 350 miles (563 km) on a full charge.

Specifications

The Long Range RWD Cybertruck retains the same iconic stainless steel exoskeleton, armored glass, and triangular silhouette as its counterparts. However, it skips air suspension in favour of traditional coil springs, helping it shed weight and cost. The truck comes standard with 18-inch wheels and a redesigned wheel cover. Notably, it does not feature the same taillights as other versions, with the center bar missing.

Compared to higher trims, this Long Range variant lacks some features such as cooled seats, rear passenger screen, power-operated bed cover, power outlets, and adjustable air suspension.

Pricing & Availability

The price of the Long Range RWD model has risen from the initial $60,990 CAD (planned for 2025 release) to the current $69,990 CAD as of April 2025, reflecting both improved range and market adjustments. Regular sales of the Long Range RWD resumed in mid-2025.

Other variants like the dual-motor AWD start around $79,990 CAD, and the tri-motor "Cyberbeast" trim is priced around $99,990 CAD.

Summary

The Long Range RWD Cybertruck is a more affordable but still long-range option compared to AWD models, with some compromises on luxury and convenience features. Availability in Canada aligns with the general North American rollout from 2025.

For those seeking a mix of performance, utility, and affordability, the Long Range RWD Cybertruck offers an attractive middle ground. It is a more road-focused model, as suggested by its lower ride height.

Full Self-Driving (FSD) capability can be added for $7,000 for early reservation holders, or $8,000 otherwise. The truck's release is strategically timed to meet growing demand for a more affordable option and maintain eligibility for government incentives.

The Long Range RWD Cybertruck's arrival in Canada introduces an opportunity for tech enthusiasts seeking an electric vehicle that aligns with their lifestyle, as it combines performance, utility, and affordability. This model, while offering a long-range capability similar to its pricier counterparts, is distinguished by its inclusion of traditional coil springs rather than air suspension and a unique design for its taillights, reflecting the trend towards technology and innovation in the automotive industry.
