Tesla unveils long-anticipated 24-electric charging stations in Brampton, Ontario
Brampton Gets a Second Larger Tesla Supercharger Station
The city of Brampton, Ontario, has welcomed a new addition to its charging infrastructure with the opening of the Brampton Supercharger. This Tesla charging station, located at 210 Great Lakes Drive, is the second such facility in the city and one of the largest in the country.
The Brampton Supercharger, which started construction in March 2024, was energized this week after more than a year of waiting. The station features a square layout with one pull-in stall and 24 V3 chargers, capable of delivering up to 250kW of power. It is situated in a quieter section of the Trinity Commons Mall parking lot, near the Rogers store.
When it first opened, the Brampton Supercharger was tied with Hope, B.C., as the largest in the country, each with 24 stalls. However, it has since been surpassed by the Mississauga Supercharger (32 stalls) and the Richmond Supercharger (40 stalls).
Tesla owners will pay $0.25/kWh during off-peak hours, while non-Tesla owners will pay $0.32/kWh. During peak hours (12:00pm to 8:00pm), rates for Tesla owners increase to $0.55/kWh, and for non-Tesla owners, they increase to $0.70/kWh.
The first Tesla Supercharger in Brampton is located at the Canadian Tire on 2850 Queen Street East and has 12 stalls.
As EV adoption accelerates across the Greater Toronto Area, the new charging infrastructure is essential. Tesla has also announced the opening of significant Supercharger locations in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Trois-Rivières, Quebec, indicating growth in those regions as well.
In addition, Tesla is constructing a new 12-stall V4 Supercharger station at 802 Bow Valley Trail, Canmore, Alberta, adding to two existing stations nearby, creating a cluster of 24 stalls within 2 km along Bow Valley Trail. Another significant station, a 16-stall V4 (V3.5) Supercharger station opened in 2023 at 8750 204 St, Langley, British Columbia, offering up to 325 kW charging speeds and convenient access to nearby restaurants and retailers.
With the addition of the Brampton Supercharger, Tesla continues to expand its charging infrastructure across Canada, making it easier for electric vehicle owners to travel and charge their vehicles efficiently.
