Tesvolt Ocean's Compact Battery System Approved for Small Ships
Tesvolt Ocean has unveiled the Compass Core battery system, designed for smaller ships with space constraints. This innovation comes in response to growing demand for secure, clean propulsion systems, as ports tighten restrictions on traditional methods.
The battery modules, measuring 60.5 cm in length, 62.4 cm in depth, and 14.9 cm in height, and weighing 5.9 kg per kilowatt-hour, are remarkably robust and compact. Two crew members can install them without a crane, even in hard-to-reach areas.
The Compass Core has proven its mettle, passing all RINA tests for type approval certification of lithium battery systems. Kaptein Group, the manufacturer, has received approval for both inland and maritime navigation under the 'Kaptein NMC Compass Core' banner. The modules are vibration-resistant and can withstand being laid on the floor and walked on, with ambient air cooling sufficient for the system. Additionally, a multi-stage protection system engages at critical battery temperatures, ensuring safety.
Tesvolt Ocean's Compass Core battery system, now RINA-approved, offers a secure and efficient solution for smaller ships. Its compact size, robustness, and easy installation make it an attractive option for retrofitting in space-constrained areas, contributing to cleaner shipping practices.
