The 2026 Maserati MCPura Enhances All Aspects of the MC20 for a High-Performance Track Vehicle
The Italian luxury car manufacturer, Maserati, has announced the launch of its new supercar, the MCPura. Scheduled for production in Q3 this year at the Modena facility, the MCPura is a mid-cycle refresh of the popular MC20, with significant engineering changes and improvements.
The MCPura delivers a 5% increase in downforce and improved thermal management for brakes and other heat-sensitive components. Over 2,000 hours were spent in wind tunnel testing and another 1,000 hours in computational fluid dynamics work with Dallara, ensuring the MCPura's aerodynamic prowess.
Exterior changes include a sharper grille inspired by the GT2 Stradale's track-focused aesthetic, revised front and rear bumpers, updated air intakes, and new color options such as AI Aqua Rainbow, Devil Orange, Verde Royale, and Night Interaction metallics. The coupe and Cielo convertible retain the same sleek overall shape, but the front grille is now trapezoidal with larger side air inlets, and the rear bumper is more sculpted. An optional oversized rear spoiler is also available.
Inside, the MCPura features a shift from leather to Alcantara throughout the cabin, offering a more luxurious feel. The new steering wheel draws inspiration from Maserati's GT2 race cars, featuring a flattened top and optional LED gear-change indicators on the coupe.
Under the hood, the MCPura retains the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 Nettuno engine producing 621 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque, combined with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. This powerful setup results in a 0-60 mph time under 2.9 seconds and a top speed around 202 mph (coupe) and 199 mph (Cielo). The dry weight of the MCPura is 3,043lbs (coupe), making it slightly lighter than the original MC20 and the track-focused MCXtrema.
For those seeking a more open-top driving experience, the Cielo convertible offers structural reinforcements that add just 25lbs over the coupe.
The MCPura's infotainment system gets an upgrade with Android-based architecture, twin 10.25-inch displays, and Tidal Hi-Fi streaming through a 12-speaker Sonus faber setup.
Maserati will build 120 numbered examples for the American market and 10 for Canada. First deliveries to U.S. customers are expected in December. With its enhanced performance, stylish updates, and limited production, the MCPura is set to be a highly desirable supercar.
