U.S. Army Europe & Africa Bolsters NATO, African Partnerships in Phase Zero

The U.S. Air Force Europe and Africa (USAFEUR-AF) is strengthening its collaboration with NATO allies and African partners. Currently in phase zero, it's focused on building capacity, interoperability, and regional security. Key allies include Germany and other European NATO countries, as well as African partners within EU trade agreements and security initiatives.

USAFEUR-AF is prepositioning supplies and resources across the theater to support its mission. It's working with allies to build their capacity as Air Force transformation advances. Persistent training exercises, including a large-scale event this month, are enhancing interoperability and targeting capabilities at scale.

The current focus is on immediate deterrence, particularly on the Eastern flank. USAFEUR-AF is establishing a network of unmanned sensors and AI-assisted decision-making to bolster existing plans and forces. Units are developing common operating pictures and understanding integrated 'kill webs' while working with partners and allies. Persistent sensors and live data are used in daily communication between formations to maintain a robust deterrence posture.

USAFEUR-AF's collaborative efforts with NATO allies and African partners are crucial for regional security. By prepositioning resources, conducting training exercises, and focusing on immediate deterrence, the Air Force is strengthening its posture and interoperability with allies. This phase zero approach aims to establish a robust defense before conflict arises.
