Unmanned delivery service Clevon bought out by indiGO Tech
In a significant move, US-based electric automaker indiGO Tech has completed the acquisition of Clevon, a European unmanned delivery operator. This strategic move is set to accelerate and strengthen indiGO Tech's development of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving features for its upcoming Flow EVs.
Clevon brings a wealth of experience to the table, having years of real-world deployments and regulatory approvals for unmanned delivery robots, including remote control operations from thousands of miles away. This technical and operational maturity is rare in the industry.
The impact on indiGO Tech's Flow EV platform, designed specifically for high-uptime commercial uses like last-mile delivery and fleet operations, will be substantial. Clevon's autonomous tech will be incorporated to enhance driver assistance and autonomous readiness from the ground up, rather than retrofitting passenger vehicles.
This acquisition expands indiGO Tech’s engineering capabilities and international footprint, helping advance a vehicle lineup optimized for safety, ride comfort, and total cost of ownership tailored to urban and fleet needs. The commercial rollout of these vehicles is expected by late 2027.
Will Graylin, CEO of indiGO Tech, highlighted the strategic alignment, stating that the combination creates EVs "that are AV ready, for the demands of today’s drivers and tomorrow’s cities," aiming to make local electric transport smarter, safer, and more accessible.
The Flow EV series will incorporate unmanned driving technology from Clevon in its development. indiGO Tech's SmartWheels technology, which integrates propulsion and suspension into each wheel, creating more interior space with a low flat floor, will also be a key feature.
The GO EVs, built from the wheels up for delivery drivers and businesses, are designed to be affordable to own, simple to maintain, and fully accessible, including wheelchair access. They are intended for high-uptime applications like last-mile delivery, ride-hailing services, and local fleet operations.
The remote operation technology of Clevon, which has been used to control vehicles across continents, unlocks new possibilities for managing, deploying, and scaling vehicles, especially in cities where labor, safety, and uptime are critical.
indiGO Tech recently closed $54 million in funding from FedEx, Foxconn, and FM Capital, which will contribute to the development of the Flow EV series. The company is in discussions with fleet operators and mobility platforms for piloting the Flow EV series.
With this acquisition, indiGO Tech aims to create EVs that are autonomous vehicle (AV) ready, addressing the needs of current drivers and future cities. The Flow EV series, expected to debut on public roads by the end of 2027, is set to revolutionize urban transport with its advanced technology and focus on affordability, accessibility, and efficiency.
